Fall Fun

Last weekend, Tim and I headed up to Auburn to see Phillip and Deborah. Phillip's Bday is today (Happy Birthday Phillip) and Deborah was throwing him a party on Saturday night so we decided to go up for it. It was lots of fun. Phillip's classmates from the Deisgn/Build program he is in at Auburn came over to their house and we grilled out, made Smores by the fire, and.....Carved Pumpkins!!! It was my first time ever to carve a pumpkin (can you believe that?!) and I LOVED it! It was such a fun weekend with our fun friends!!!
My totally Hot husband with some crazy sunglasses he found in his mom's car...haha.

TIM is 24!!!!

Today is my wonderful husband's bday! So in honor of his bday I thought I would share 24 facts about Tim:

1. He is an awesome drummer. Well ok everyone knows that...
2. He is the most patient person I know. Sometimes that makes me mad.
3. He goes to school full time,
4. works full time,
5. and has been on the Dean's list almost every semester. WOW.
6. He drives a car with no AC-and we live in Alabama where it is hot all year round.
7. He is very handy- he has installed new heating element in our water heater, built a shed in our backyard, fixed our toilet, fixed our plumbing, installed crown moulding, and fixed both of our cars on numerous occasions.
8. He loves Andy Griffith-I hate it.
9. He is a great gift giver. He buys me cute clothes.
10. He studies more than I ever thought about studying in college. EVERY night from 7-11PM. Crazy I know.
11. He is obsessed with the stock market. Well more obsessed really with researching stocks. The he tries to explain it to me. I smile and nod and pretend I am listening as I daydream.
12. He makes the best over-easy eggs I have ever tasted.
13. He says when we have kids he wants a boy first, but I know he secretly wants a girl.
14. He likes listening to books on cd when we go on road trips. Not action packed fiction books that keep you on the edge of your seat- books about Real Estate, Finance, the Stock Market, and Investing. I like them becuase they put me to sleep really fast.
15. He encourages me every day and keeps me going when I want to quit.
16.In High School he drove a Volvo station wagon, which for awhile smelled like fish guts-because some of his friends put fish guts IN the dashborad of the car to be funny. Kids at school smelled him coming from a mile away. Poor guy.
17. He used to have dreadlocks. They stunk. Thank God they are gone. (I will find a pic and post it)
18. He used to have gages in his ears-they were huge. He took them out about 4 years ago and they have closed up ALOT but he could still fit my earrings through his ears.
19. His alarm goes off every 5 minutes for about an hour every morning. It drives me nuts, but I am used to it now.
20. He is a pack rat. When we got married, we were going through a bunch of his boxes and I found his Trapper Keeper from 4th grade. 4th grade people. That was a LONG time ago. And when I tired to throw it out he said and I quote, " Don't throw that out, it has a lot of good notes in it!!!" I'm sure he is going to go back and study his 4th grade Science a lot... I threw it away.
21. He is very sweet and romantic and I love that about him.
22. He is very disciplined and I wish I could be more like him in that regard.
23. He plays hide and seek with Bear. It is cute.
24. He is the best husband and best friend I could have ever dreamed of!

Happy 24th Birthday Tim! I hope its the best year yet!!!!! I love you!

Friends...Bowling...and Birthdays....

WOW. I haven't blogged in forever. Not that anyone even reads this but whatev.

Alot has happened since I last blogged...

1. Bear and I finished Dog Obedience class with flying colors. He was great for about.....a week. No really he is ALOT better but there are still issues to work with him on like...don't run away from me when I take you outside. But I love him!

2. Our good friends Ryan and Elita Friesen had another baby! They already have Noah who is 3 and the cutest, smartest kid! They had Jackson Pete on July 28th and he is so little and cute! We are so excited for them!

3. Tim and I went to Auburn in August to visit Phillip and Deborah (who needs to start a blog b/c it would be hilarious!). It was so fun! Bear and their dog LuLu are in love, so they had fun playing non stop all weekend. it was so cute. Bear passed out on the way home and slept the whole way and for three days after! While we were there we went to Sylacauga, AL (about an hour outside of Auburn) to a lake house their friend owns. It was so fun! We went out in the boat, went jet skiing, flooded the jet ski and had to tow it back with the boat (it was hysterical), went horse back riding, and just hung out. It was so good to see them and their cute house.
All of us on their front porch

Bear and LuLu sharing a bed...they are so scandalous.

4. My little sister left for college! She is a freshman at Southern Miss. I can't believe she is already in college! I remember when she came home from the hospital and all the years of torture Elissa and I put her through. haha-let's just say we did things like make her eat rabbit poop and we told her they were raisins and she would say "MMMMM Ray-Ray's". WOW we are mean.

5. My dad, who has been working in Mexico for the past year and a half, and only gets to come home about every 3 months :(, came in town for a visit! It was he and my mom's 27th anniversary. Cute. One night when he was here we all went bowling as a Family (everyone but Matt, JulieAnna, and Jonah), plus my nephews brought a friend, so there were 10 of us. I hadn't been bowling in forever so I didn't do so hot. My 10 year old nephew beat me. Sad. Elissa and Allan on the other hand are professionals. They even have their own bowling balls, shoes, and a handy dandy rolling bag. All they are missing is those hot bowling league shirts. HMMM maybe that's what I will get them for Christmas. I think even my mom did better than me. She has never played a sport in her life. It was quite hilarious to watch her bowl.

The whole gang from left: Tim, Allan, Elissa, Mary Lee, my dad, my mom

Me, my nephews James and Preston, and their friend Aaron

Elissa and Allan "The professionals" aka LOSERS

My Mother.

6. I turned 23!!!! I know that's not old at all but I feel like I am getting old. Tim was so sweet and got me flowers, cooked me breakfast, took me to dinner, and got me a Bissell Steam Vac (don't worry its not a clue for me to clean the house. I actually really wanted it!). I have already cleaned the couches and WOW they look amazing. I should be on an infomercial for it and they could show before and after pics of my couch. Its amazing the difference...now on to the living room rug.....

Tim and I before we went out for a yummy dinner at Bangkok Thai

Bear and I on my birthday. He even got me a card. He is so sweet.

Well I guess that about does it for my 2 month update. Hopefully it won't be that long before I post again.....

Doggy Obedience

Yep that's right....Bear and I are taking Doggy obedience classes. It has been quite an adventure....
Week 1
First of all there are about 30 dogs at the class (not exaggerating) and when you get 30 dogs together of course all they want to do is sniff each other, pee on trees, and play. The first week I made the mistake of getting there right before the class started so Bear didn't really have a chance to get to know all his new dog friends before the class began.....BIG MISTAKE. The class begins, the lady who teaches it is a Yankee-Nazi all rolled into one (I will get to her later), and so everyone is standing there with their dogs and she starts to talk. Well Bear was not interested in sitting there quietly, like all the other dogs, while she talked....he began howling and I mean HOWLING at the top of his lungs. I suddenly felt like a parent who's kids yells out something embarrassing in the grocery store line. I bent down as nonchalantly as I could and said "Bear, shut up". Didn't help. So I thought well maybe he is just freaked out, so I bent down and patted him and said, "It's ok Bear." All of the sudden the Yankee-Nazi teacher yells from across the field, "DON'T PET YOUR DOG WHEN HE IS DOING THAT!" Everyone was staring at me by this point...it startled me and so I quickly stood up scared I might get kicked out. Bear finally stopped, after what felt like an hour. We finished out the class.....

Week 2
I made a point to get there alot earlier so Bear would have time to get to know all his fellow classmates. By the time the class started he was already pretty worn out so, I figured getting him to sit for a while for her to talk would be no prob. And it was, he actually laid down and fell asleep while we were all standing listening to her. Then we start to do some exercises she taught us. Bear was doing great. We were learning how to properly walk on the leash...It was Bear's turn to go so we started walking and doing our exercise....well all of the sudden Bear decides he needed to go #2. I tired to make him stop, but I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go. Nazi Yankee immediately comes over and says, " Well go get your bag and clean it up." " My bag?" "Yes, your dog bag. You should have brought bags to clean up after your dog, it was on your supply sheet." "Oh yeah right, the supply list I forgot to read." So there I was stuck next to a smelly pile with no poop bag. Thankfully a really sweet lady had a special belt she was wearing with a roll of poop bags and a pooper scooper attached (No joke) to it that she let me borrow. So thus ended another eventful night of dog obedience.

Week 3
Went off without a hitch! Bear was great and I can really tell that he is learning.....5 more weeks of classes to go so I am sure there are bound to be a few more eventful stories......

Mr. Incredbile

Tim and I have been married for one year today!!! I cannot believe time has flown by so fast! This has been by far the best year of my life and I look forward to many, many more years with Tim. In honor of our anniversary I thought I would share the top 10 things I love about Tim.

10. He is seriously the nicest person I know. I am not just saying that. I tend to need to vent alot about how people tick me off (haha) and he is always just so nice saying things like "Give them the benefit of the doubt Kath", which in the heat of the moment usually tick me off even more, but I love him for being so dadgum sweet.

9. He takes care of me.

8. He knows how much it means to me for him to love on, play with our dog Bear, and he does it alot, even when he doesn't feel like it, just to make me happy.

7. He is good at ironing. I HATE to iron, so it is such a blessing that he is not only good at ironing but willing to do it.

6. He works really, really hard. He works full time AND goes to school full time, and I really admire that.

5. He is cute.

4. I make up songs a lot, about pretty much everything, and rather than thinking I am a total freak (which he probably does at times but never says it), he usually joins in with me or at least laughs.

3. He goes out of his way to make me feel special. Leaving me notes, buying me random gifts, bringing me flowers all the time. I love it and I love him for doing it.

2. He loves my family. My family means a lot to me, and it is good to know that even with all of their craziness Tim loves them.

1. I know that Tim will always be there to calm my storms, and just give me a hug when I need it. He knows me inside and out, and still loves me. I can truly say that Tim has done an amazing job of loving me the way Christ loves the church. I love him so much!

On another note, we ate the top layer of our wedding cake tonight. I am not gonna lie. It was discus ting. totally freezer burned. I was so disappointed. Tim said he thought it was good. Here's a few pics of the momentous event....

Our Little Boy is Growing Up....

I know I know Bear is not really our child, but for now he is pretty darn close. I love him like he is my kid. Tim and I decided to take Bear to the beach on Memorial Day for his 1st beach adventure. The closest he has ever been to the beach is taking a bath after rolling in sand at the park.....so we knew he was in for some major excitement. We went down to Dauphin Island because we knew it would not be super crowded so we would be able to let Bear run around and play. We had so much fun! It was awesome to have the day off and just be able to hang out with my hubby and my boy! Bear was a bit aprehensive of the water at first, but then I jumped in and started screaming like I was drowning and he with a very scared look in his eye, ran into the water, swam to me, and then clung to me for dear life. Ha Ha I have the scratches and bruises to prove it. He would not let go. It was hilarious. After that, he would jump in and swim around when Tim and I were in the water. He loved digging in the sand, chasing his frisbee, and just being the crazy puppy he is. Here are some pictures of our fun day!

WTF

What the?!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe its just me but apparently the American Public is deaf. Ok well atleast everyone who votes on American idol. Jason Castro and Brooke White were definitly not up to par last night, yet both of them remained safe tonight while Carly and SaYESha were in the bottom two?! What is going on? Carly and Sayesha were really good last night....this is unbeliveable. AND THEN CARLY goes home? She is pretty much the best one on the show. I am freaking out, if you can't tell.....

In other news....

My older sister, Mary Lee, got married to a wonderful guy, Matt Bush, on April 11th. It was an awesome wedding. Matt has two sons Chris and Jonah so I am excited to have two new nephews as well. Con grats Matt and Mary Lee! Please give me a niece soon! My poor parents have had 3 out of their 4 daughters get married in less than a year! I am pretty sure they should be in the Guiness Book of World records! They have put up with alot from us and I am sure they could write a book on wedding planning. Thanks mom and dad!

Well I guess I am getting old...

My sisters Elissa, Mary Lee, me, and Julie Anna and Tim in the background

I have come to the realization that my body is aging and not as agile as it used to be. How did I come to find this out? Well this weekend I had the privilege of going to my 12 year old nephew's birthday party at the Skating Rink!! I used to be quite the roller skating queen, so I thought I was gonna blow everyone out of the water with my awesome skating ability. I had not been on skates in about 10 years....so whenever I put on those roller skates (not Rollerblades) for the first time...I thought I was gonna kill myself. My sister Mary Lee, asked me to help serve cake and ice cream WHILE I WAS IN MY SKATES. A couple kids almost got cake in their face and me in their lap. It was funny to watch the kids faces as I came stumbling towards them, I could tell they too were scared I was going to crush them. I realized my balance has definitely waned since my elementary years. Not only that but within the first 10 minutes of skating...my legs, ankles, and butt all began to hurt. I have huge bruises on my knees from my many tumbles to the ground..it was sad. Not as sad as my sister Julie Anna skating though....she is 17 and most of the 4 year olds out on the rink were better than she was. It was so so sad. She went around the rink about 3 times total in the three hours we were there with her arms out to the side slowly moving back and forth, that is if she didn't tumble to the ground. Which she did on many occasions.

Example #1 of Julie Anna about to fall (with a little help of course)

Example #2 of Julie Anna about to fall (Notice the flailing arms and we aren't even moving)

Despite the fact that I am sore and bruised, the party was fun and I decided Tim and I should go skating more often to improve our skills and maybe we can join a couples skating league (yes they really have them...).

unbelievable....

I am afraid to say it but...I think KLC (Kristy Lee Cook) might be staying around....her perfomrance last night on American Idol was in my opinion totally cheesy and her hair looked retarded but, the judges seemed to like it, so I think she might be around a bit longer. I was just sure she was going home after last week's God awful performance and didn't so, I have a feeling she won't go this week either. Hopefully I am wrong. I CANNOT stand watching her performances. Something about her gives me the heebie-jeebies.
(BTW whoever dresses KLC should be fired.)

In other news, I loved Carly's performance, Michael's rendition of "We Will rock you/ We are the Champions" took me back to my days as a soccer player, and I just LOVE Brooke! I hope she wins, she definitly has my vote.

Im gonna be famous....I think.

So a few weeks ago, Extreme Home Makeover came to Mobile. The house they were building was literally like 2 blocks away from ours. It was cool. Anyways my friend Deborah and I volunteeered and helped on the house and stuff, (ok we didn't really do much but we did walk around and accidently go into the VIP tent and have muffins and coffee, it was only when people started looking at us weird that we realized maybe we weren't supposed to be in there)...so because we "volunteered" we got to go back for the reveal when the family came home and everything (which BTW was SO COOL!) So anyways...Deborah and I decided that we were going to stand leaning up against the side of the house when they came home so we would get a good view and so we would be on tv and become famous.

So last night, the show aired. I was convinced I would have millions of people spot me on tv and call me telling me they had seen me as well as numerous people calling offering to make the next big movie star....ok not really but I was hoping I would see myself on tv b/c that would just be cool. So Tim and I made popcorn and sat down to watch the show that I have been anticipating seeing for so long. They get to the part where they pan the house after the family has seen it...and we were no where to be seen! There was this huge group of people standing there with us that they apparently cut out!

I was like what!!!!!!!!!! I was standing RIGHT THERE! Whatev, but the house is really amazingly cool. you can go to www.abc.com and watch the episode of the Gaudet family, and you will see it. I love that show!

Fashion Tips...

My wonderful husband told me yesterday that mullets were now "in style". Hmmm not sure what fashion magazine he has been reading, but I have yet to hear that. He said thats because I was no longer "in" on the current styles. "So are you saying I am a nerd?" I said. "No. No. You just have older taste and mullets are in for the younger crowd." He is such a sweetheart. :) Tell me please...how can this possibly be fashionable?
